The promotion charge continues for our Ladies second team as they maintained their recent good form in easily accounting for visitors Appleton Roebuck this afternoon.
Despite absentees, captain Rachel Butterworth was still able to field a strong looking side, and like the sun which shone throughout, our ladies were on fire!
Lucy Wright stepped in to partner Trish Bell and soon began to show her class as the pair accumulated 29 game points in winning their three sets. The partnership only conceded 7 games in a thoroughly professional performance.
Not to be outdone Butterworth alongside regular playing partner Fiona Chantry were also in clinical form and finished just a game behind in winning 28 games with 8 conceded.
Janine Smith and Marise Richfield continued their partnership and will be happy to have visited the winners enclosure twice and, but for an enforced break which meant a long wait till their final rubber, may well have completed a treble themselves. In acquiring 19 points however it cemented the Wetherby win to give a final scoreline of 76-32.
Wetherby are now becoming a force to be reckoned with and no team will fancy meeting our girls on current form. The team are next in action on Saturday May 21st with an early 10am start over at Tollerton.
