A happy captain Yvonne Mannall relaxing with Rachel Hill following todays win at Dunnington.
The Ladies first team maintained their tremendous start to the season when completing a fourth straight win when easily accounting for hosts Dunnington this afternoon.
Despite the girls feeling a little worse for wear after celebrating with coach Angela Crossley who was married yesterday,it certainly didn’t show as all three pairs played some superb tennis and incredibly all scored the same 27 game points!
Sue Jacklin partnered Rachel Hill and like all our pairs only conceded 9 games in a commanding performance. Captain Yvonne Mannall played with Helen Robinson and in winning one match 11 games to 1 could claim the title of biggest winning margin in an individual rubber on the day.
Not to be outdone Lucy Wright maintained her excellent early season form when her and playing partner Charlotte Todd had far too much for a bewildered Dunnington outfit.
A fantastic afternoon and a final winning score of 81-27 confirmed the Wetherby supremacy. On current form it will take a very good side to stop our ladies in their tracks.
The title charge in Fulford Ladies League Division Two continues next weekend when the team host our close friends Boston Spa on Saturday with a 2-30pm start. As always all welcome and a good standard of tennis will once again be on view.
