The York One mixed doubles team play in Division 2 of the York and District Tennis League. On Tuesday they played their second match of the season when they visited Rowntree Park in York.
Missing captain Angela Crossley who was married on Saturday, the team drafted in Becci Jones as a replacement and she paired up with Jeremy Reddish who was also guesting. The couple soon gelled and played some unstoppable tennis in recording three wins on the evening including a 11-1 demolition job on one of the beleagued home pairs. They finished the session winning 28 games to 8 in a thoroughly professional performance.
David Corbyn and Charlotte Todd played seed one and they too managed a 10-2 win over the same unfortunate home duo. The silky skills of left hander Corbyn coupled with the relaxed but efficient Todd resulted in two winning rubbers and a 22 games to 14 success.
James Landau and Jo Coverdale found the going slightly tougher but even with two defeats and a draw earned a useful 15 games which meant overall the team were victorious 65-43 and maintained a winning start to the campaign.
Another fine team effort on a lovely summers evening so well done and good luck for the remainder of the season.
The team are next in action on Tuesday 24 May when York 3 are the visitors to Castlegarth.
