Rain Halts Relegation Clash

Wetherby B travelled North on Tuesday night looking for the point that would have guaranteed their place in Harrogate League Five for another season. They currently sit one point and one place above relegation and hosts Burton Leonard but with the North Yorkshire outfit only having one game left, knew avoiding defeat was all that was needed to secure safety. The match did start but before the first round could be completed the players had been forced from the courts due to heavy rain and as can clearly be seen from the pictures below, there was no realistic chance of a resumption.

The B team have two games to play and have another chance of points this Thursday when they host Wetherby A at Castlegarth before the reply at Burton Leonard on a date yet to be determined. A frustrating evening when the only winner was the weather but at least the team live to fight another day.
