On a warm balmy evening, Angela Crossley organised a Club tournament at the usual Wednesday evening Social gathering. A good crowd of 20 players took part and it was great to see all five courts in use. Like the recent Sunday competition, a mixture of ladies, mens or mixed doubles took place with three games played before a swop and a further three meant any player could gain a maximum six points in any one round. The event was played in a great spirit with plenty of humour and laughter on show and with the added excitement of prizes at stake the competition still retained a nice edge about it!.
Once the averages had been calculated the winners were announced and Debbie Vines added to a number of tournament wins over the years by finishing as top lady. In the men’s it has proved a good few days for the Triffitt’s with son Bradley taking the Sunday social men’s title whilst old man Mike was crowned champion tonight!
Early arrivals seen before tonights event were joined by others later to ensure a maximum field entered.
