Over the next week I will be embarking on the first 100 miles of Wainwright’s coast to coast walk with a good friend of mine, Ian Croston. The full walk takes you from St Bees Head in Cumbria to Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire, a distance of just under 200 miles. We plan to undertake the first half of the walk between the 2nd and 9th June finishing at Keld and then complete the second stage between the 2nd and 8th of September.
To encourage me to complete the walk, I’d like to ask you to help me raise money for Saint Leonard’s Hospice in York. Just over 3 years ago my oldest friend, Tom Jackson, passed away a few weeks before his 50th birthday. During the last weeks of his life, Tom was cared for at St Leonard’s Hospice. I was very impressed with the peaceful and caring environment at St Leonard’s and the dedicated staff there, who made Tom as comfortable as possible and provided a dignified end to his life.
Like all charities St Leonard’s relies heavily on fundraising and charitable donations in order to operate. I am sure they would be very grateful for any donation you are able to offer.
You can help me raise money for this cause by donating directly to my fundraising page – https://www.justgiving.com/Mike-Park2. JustGiving sends your donation straight to St Leonard’s Hospice, York and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer.
Thank you for your support!
