Bradley Triffitt and Gabriel Mead were in action over Bank Holiday playing in the Yorkshire County Championship finals held at John Charles stadium in Leeds. The Wetherby U14 boys had qualified after competing at Ripon back in May but this was a big step up in class taking on the cream of the County. They found the going tough in both the U14 boys singles main and consolation draws but gave a very good account in the U14 boys doubles. They then however made the semi-final of the U14 boys consolation doubles playing some excellent tennis along the way . It was a tough and energy sapping two days but both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were a credit to Wetherby tennis club.
A special mention to Co-Ordinator David Kitchen who had to organise an unbelievable amount of events at various age levels but was extremely helpful and made the event such a success.
Good luck to both Bradley and Gabe in their Wetherby end of season events and it’s encouraging to see both improving and representing the club in such well-regarded tournaments in Yorkshire.
