Dry but cold conditions greeted the players who were competing in todays Pauline Mutch start of the season opener. We were unable to match last week’s attendance figure but a round dozen made for perfect numbers for the organisers. Like last week three rounds were played with members playing four games before two swapped and a further four games played meaning eight points were available in each round. The men’s event was extremely tight and eventually Bradley Triffitt followed up yesterday’s Junior U18 title success with victory here after accumulating 16 points. Niall Wood was just a point behind to take the runners up prize. In the ladies, Rachel Butterworth proved very consistent and this seasons ladies second team captain was in tremendous form throughout as she scored an amazing 20 points. Helen Robinson was runner up with 11 and thanks to Janine Smith who rose from her sick bed to take a gallant third.
Well done Bradley Triffitt and Rachel Butterworth who share the Pauline Mutch trophy, a bottle of wine and an Easter egg. Brads mum has already claimed the wine!!!
Niall Wood and Helen Robinson picked up an Easter egg for their runners up efforts today.
Thanks to Helen Robinson and Mike Triffitt who combined playing with organising this afternoon.
Our next social tournament will be held on Sunday May 5th which is the start of the month event.
