Dear Members

Your Wetherby Castlegarth Tennis Club (WCTC) Committee have been working hard to react to the changing restrictions resulting from the Coronavirus pandemic. Our priorities have been to make the courts available as much as possible whilst keeping members safe. Currently the courts are closed, with little prospect of restrictions being lifted in the immediate term. As the period of time of closure is undetermined at this point, the Club’s Committee have unanimously decided to :

  • Extend all existing members 2019-20 membership by three months (until June 30th 2020) at nil cost.
  • Create a new membership tariff for the balance of the year once the courts are able to be accessed.
  • Welcome new members to join on a zero tariff until the end of June.
  • Refund members who have already paid for 2020-21 membership.

These measures have not been taken lightly, and the financial implications of this approach on the Club has been modelled. Our objective is to face this challenge as a Club and maintain as many of you as WCTC members as possible once we are back up and running and able to play tennis again.

The Committee commits to continuing to keep the closure of the courts under review in line with Government advice, and we will of course continue to communicate with you through this process. Please feel able to contact myself or any of your Committee team for any clarification or comment.

Many thanks for your continued support. Please do all you can to keep yourself and your family safe through this period.

Regards and best wishes

Stephen Jones (chairman) and the WCTC Committee
