Despite the inclement weather on Friday the show went on and twenty four participants produced some great tennis with plenty of laughter and humour meaning the rain couldn’t dampen the Christmas spirits. The brainchild of new committee member Charlotte Todd and carried off with masterful precision with the unbelievably superb organisation skills of head coach Angela Crossley ensuring a really lively and entertaining evening throughout. Players competed in either four or five rounds of doubles during a twenty minute time period and round scores were added together during the evening to give an eventual top three. Jo Coverdale was on hand to assist with social distancing and members were able to comply with this during the evening. Some cracking outfits and jumpers on show and many thanks for those who took part this evening.
Congratulations to Arun Manoharan who took overall honours with an impressive 29 points followed by Adam Turner on 27 and Matt Smyth on 24.

Great to see coach Ollie Newsome back on court having returned from University for the xmas holidays and he was in good form and spirits along with PE teacher Dave Rowlands and junior coaching assistant Bradley Triffitt.
The stars of the show were Angela and Charlotte Wood who organised and kept everyone entertained with some top xmas tunes tonight, well done girls.
On his final day at the club, coach Tom Warburton had a day to remember packed full of activities although after a good soaking the costume was feeling rather heavy by close of play!
A super effort from Steve Plant who carried the xmas tree costume off in impressive fashion and still played some eye catching tennis despite the handicap!
