The second of our Xmas jumper events attracted a nineteen strong field and with dry and fairly warm weather a very pleasant afternoon ensued. It was great to see new faces and juniors getting involved and there was plenty of competitive tennis on show played in an easy going atmosphere.
Competitors played three rounds with each consisting of four games with one partner and four with another to give eight per round and a possible twenty four maximum at stake overall.
Debutant Victoria Parkinson and Friday winner Arum Manoharan were sporting good xmas jumpers this afternoon whilst social regulars Ollie and Dawn Steel were once again seen in action
Youngster Zak Watson and newcomer Adrian Lobley were wearing excellent jumpers as was Victoria Parkinson
Long serving members Helen Robinson and David Rhodes were also in festive attire whilst newcomer Phil Wilkinson and late call up Nigel Sullivan were joined by Stuart Robinson and Rachel Butterworth who have been great supporters of the club for many years.
Organiser Steve Plant and committee member Mike Butterworth in good spirts today
Congratulations to Brain Thomas with a super 16 points to take runners up spot behind the very impressive winner Adrian Lobley who with 20 points was a class apart and a worthy winner
The ladies event was extremely close but it was great to see two youngsters taking the honours. Zahra Watson left secured runners up with 14 points whilst one point ahead on 15 points was champion Elsa Redhead with both girls showing immense promise.
